Places around us..

Karol Ranges (Karol Tibba):-

The highest in the region, houses a historic Krishana temple at the inception of a cave which was supposedly dug by Pandavas during exile. How deep the cave runs is just a guess. The folklore says that this cave ultimately emerges at the Pinjore near the historic Mugal gardens . For a fit man a stiff uphill trek and back would take about one full day to visit this place.

 Shikar track :-

Developed by maharaja of Patiala where one can do the bird watching including the Monal (the state bird) is on the hill side of the resort .

Another trek near the resort leads to Kanoh village on the other side of the hill which commands magnificent view of "Churi Chandni" hills and has the highest railway bridge only of its kind in the world.

 Chail View Palace:-

Though , now a college for women , but the personal Chambers of the Maharaja are still maintained in the pristine glory and magnificence can be viewed by any visitor.

 Shiva Temple:-

One with the religious and archeological bend of mind can visit the temple of the Loard Shiva. Folklore dates this temple to about 350-400 years. Though in between it was repaired and reconstructed by His Highness Maharaja Bhupenderv Singh of Patiala.

 Baba Thada Mulla :-

About half a kilometer downhill take you to a local deity "The Baba Thada Mula" where women are not permitted to worship. One can also wittiness the magnificent waterfall approx 250 ft. It is said that wishes are fulfilled in exactly seven days and of course a sacrifice of a black goat is essential as a thanks giving.
